Suppression Mechanism of Deep Cavity Noise Using Flow Interference between Cavity and Grooves Located at Different Spacings

英文摘要This paper employs the flow control method of the leading-edge groove on a deep cavity and numerically investigates the effect of the spacing between the groove and the cavity on the aerodynamic noise characteristics of the cavity at Mach number (Ma) 0.16. Moreover, the noise reduction mechanism of the deep cavity is further investigated. The spacings between the groove and the cavity are 0.5 times, one time, two times, and three times the groove length. The adopted method is a combination of the detached eddy simulation (DES) and Flowcs Williams-Hawkings (FW-H) equations to obtain the flow and aerodynamic noise characteristics of the cavity. The results showed that the suppression effect of the grooves on the flow noise of the cavity at four positions was different, with the most obvious noise reduction effect occurring when the spacing equaled two times the groove length, followed by when the spacing equals 0.5 time the groove length. However, the noise reduction mechanism of the two is not entirely the same. When the spacing equals 0.5 time the groove length, the groove flow significantly reduces the broadband noise and acoustic resonance noise in the deep cavity but has almost no suppression effect on flow-acoustic feedback noise. When the spacing equals two times the groove length, the groove flow slightly reduces the broadband and acoustic resonance noises and suppresses the flow-acoustic feedback noise.
