Study about pressure drop of downhole vane type pipe separator for oil-water separation

| 英文摘要 | The diverter Vane Type Pipe Separator(VTPS) is formed by the rotation of the diverter vane installed in the pipeline to form a double swirl flow field of oil and water, and then the water flows out through the tangentially opened hole on the pipe wall to achieve the separation of water. The oil-water separator is very suitable for in-situ oil-water separation in Wells with high water content. For a certain structure of VTPS, the change of pressure drop when the operating parameters change is of great significance for matching pump selection. In this paper, the influence of inlet flow rate, split ratio and oil content on pressure drop is studied experimentally. The results show that the dimensionless parameters Euler Number related to pressure drop are mainly related to mix Reynolds numbers, split ratio and structure parameters. When the structure is fixed, it is the main control parameter. The dimensionless parameter analysis method was used to obtain the calculation relation of the pressure drop, which comprehensively considered the influence of operating parameters and physical parameters on the pressure drop, and the research results successfully promoted the field application of the separator. © 2025 SPIE. |
