| 英文摘要 | This study examines the asymmetric impacts of climate variability on agricultural production in the Mekong region, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, by using NARDL model from 1961 to 2021. The results reveal that, in the long run, increased temperatures and decreased CO2 reduce agricultural production, while decreased temperatures, decreased rainfall, and increased CO2 improve it in Cambodia. In Laos, decreased temperatures hinder production, while increased CO2 promotes it. In Myanmar, decreased temperatures, decreased rainfall, and increased or decreased CO2 enhance production, while increased rainfall reduces it. In Thailand, increased temperature and rainfall support agriculture, while decreased rainfall and CO2 diminish it. In Vietnam, increased temperatures reduce production, while decreased temperatures, decreased rainfall, and increased CO2 improve it. These findings highlight the need for country-specific climate adaptation strategies, including targeted water management, investment in climate-resilient crops, and regionally tailored emission control policies to sustain agricultural productivity under climate change. |
