| 英文摘要 | Agronomic management practices that reduce nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions while enhancing crop productivity are being increasingly optimized to support human well-being and mitigate climate change. However, spatially explicit benefits of optimized management practices for crop-specific yield enhancement and N2O mitigation remain unclear. Here, using a machine learning approach, we scaled a compiled dataset of field measurements to estimate spatial patterns of food production benefits and N2O reduction potential from rice, wheat, and maize. Global assessment showed that optimized management practices lowered area-scaled N2O emissions by 15.8-28.2% and yield-scaled N2O emissions by 19.2-31.7% for three crops, while achieving a yield increase of 2.4-5.9% compared to conventional management practices. Correspondingly, these improvements were equivalent to production benefits of 78.2 Mt yr-1 and N2O reduction potential of 0.32 Tg N yr-1. Our findings highlight the importance of adopting optimized strategies tailored to specific crop species to maintain food security and environmental sustainability. |
