| 英文摘要 | To understand the role of synergistic Se and harmful element exposure in human selenosis in Shuang'an Township, China, this study analyzed concentrations, spatial distributions, and health risks of 31 elements in 95 crop samples. Results showed over 50 % of crops exceeded safety limits for Cd, Se, and Cr, with Cd showing the most severe exceedance (72.3 % exceedance, up to 145.7-fold) compared to Se (62.8 % exceedance, up to 82.7-fold). Although high-Se crops were widespread throughout the selenosis area, selenosis cases were geographically confined to areas where crops exhibited significantly higher concentrations of Cd, Cr, Cu, As, and Zn (10-100 times above safety limits). Dietary assessments revealed Se, Mo, and Cd intakes exceeded the tolerable upper intake level (UL), while Cr intake was 10 times the recommended intake level (RNI). Consequently, 89.4 % of crops posed potential health risks, primarily due to Cr, Cd, and As. All crops from selenosis site posed high health risks, primarily due to Se, Cd, Cr, and As. These findings suggest selenosis in Shuang'an Township may attributed to combined Se and harmful elements (Cd, Cr, As) exposure, meanwhile underscoring the urgent need for comprehensive safety assessments of Se-rich crops from selenosis areas. |
