An Extended Split-Window Algorithm: Towards Accurate Land Surface Temperature Retrieval

| 英文摘要 | Land Surface Temperature (LST) is a key parameter for driving water and energy exchanges at the land surface, and the Split-Window (SW) algorithm is a widely used method for LST retrieval. In this study, we proposed an Extended Split-Window (ESW) algorithm, where the SW coefficients are represented as functions of brightness temperature (BT), water vapor content (WVC), land surface emissivity (LSE), and view zenith angle (VZA), thereby improving the accuracy of LST retrieval. The coefficients of the ESW algorithm were determined using simulated data generated by MODTRAN, achieving a theoretical accuracy of 0.84 K. When applied to MODIS data and evaluated at five ground observation sites, the ESW algorithm achieved a root mean square error (RMSE) of 1.73 K, compared to 2.41 K for the MOD11 LST product. |
