Fe78Si9B13/MnO2 composite: a magnetic and efficient Fenton-like catalyst in degradation of methyl orange under activation of H2O2

| 英文摘要 | A magnetic and efficient Fe78Si9B13/MnO2 composite was successfully fabricated by a facile hydrothermal method. This composite was employed as a Fenton-like catalyst for the degradation of methyl orange (MO) under activation of H2O2. The phase and morphology of the composite were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The experimental results reveal that the theoretical mass loading of Fe78Si9B13/MnO2 composite and H2O2 dosage have a significant effect on MO degradation. Fe78Si9B13/MnO2 composite effectively improved MO oxidation ability and could quickly decolorize the MO to 99.7 %. Decolorization efficiency increased with increasing H2O2 concentration from 0 % to 1.15 %. Additionally, a possible reaction mechanism of the coupling system was proposed. |
