Design of the multi-slit spectro-polarimeter for the 2.5-m wide-field and high-resolution solar telescope

| 英文摘要 | We have designed a multi-slit spectropolarimeter for the 2.5-m wide-field and high-resolution solar telescope of China (WeHoST), which is capable of simultaneously observing the full Stokes profiles of the Fe I 617.3 nm and Mg I b(2 )517.3 nm linesover a solar region up to300x300 arcsec(2). Four entrance slits are employed to increase the temporal resolution, achieving a spectral resolution of similar to 11.2to 14.6 m A and a spectral bandwidth of similar to 0.7nm for each slit. A polarimeter based on a dual-beam configuration has been integrated with this spectrograph and adopts a spatial-temporal modulation scheme. It includes a rotating waveplate as a modulator and a polarizing beamsplitter as an analyzer. In addition, an assembly for calibrating the instrumental polarization of the telescope is equipped with the polarimeter. We present an overview of the design, key characteristics of the primary components, and the current development status of the spectropolarimeter. |
