Reducing environmental impacts in jujube industry chain optimization through agricultural waste recycling in Jiaxian county, China

| 英文摘要 | Achieving effective agricultural waste recycling is of great significance for mitigating environmental impact in the course of rural industrial revitalization. This study applied life cycle assessment to evaluate the environmental impacts of waste recycling, and designed scenario simulations to propose optimization strategy for jujube industry chain extension. Compared with the unexpanded industry chain, industry chain extension increased the recycling of waste branches and defective jujube, and reduced the input of chemical fertilizer, but brought in additional input of electricity. Pollution emissions reduced in industry chain extension mainly came from fertilizer production, branch management and energy production and use. CO2 was the main source of pollution, and fertilizer production, fertilizer use, and waste branch management remained the main sources of environmental impacts. Industry chain extension increased the environmental impacts of climate change, ozone depletion, fine particulate matter formation, and terrestrial acidification by 14.68%, 22.99%, 1.44% and 5.15%, respectively. Replacing 60% chemical fertilizer with organic fertilizer have the lowest environmental impacts, which can be recommended as the optimal strategies for the jujube industry chain extension. These results confirm that scientific optimization of agricultural industry chains can realize the effective coupling of agricultural waste recycling and environmental impact reduction. |
