| 英文摘要 | Ion detection is of great importance for various fields such as disease diagnosis, environmental monitoring, ecological process evolution and food safety control because most processes and mechanisms found in nature rely on ions. As a reliable tool for rapid ion sensing, potentiometric polymeric membrane ion-selective electrodes (ISEs) have been routinely used, for which an ionophore capable of reversibly binding the target ion is employed as the key component in the sensing membrane. During the past decades, tremendous fundamental advances have been made, which have fueled renewed interests in pursuing active research in this field. Despite the successful achievements of these ionophore-based sensors, the challenges such as the short lifespan, persistent signal drift, and poor bio/environmental compatibility have posed serious limits to their real-world long-term applications. This review summarizes recent progress in the development of robust polymeric membrane potentiometric ISEs, with particular emphasis on the challenges associated with in vivo, in situ, and long-term measurements, as well as the corresponding resolution strategies. Key approaches discussed include prevention of membrane-component leaching, development of biocompatible and environmentally compatible sensing membranes, and design of long-term stable solid-contact electrodes, which collectively enable the transition from short-term sensing toward reliable long-term potentiometric monitoring. The applications of these sensors in wearable and implantable devices and in environmental monitoring platforms are also highlighted. Future perspectives for potentiometric sensors aimed at long-term reliable environmental and biomedical monitoring are outlined. |
