| 英文摘要 | We present a high-resolution record of seawater osmium isotope (Os-187/Os-188 ratio) variations over the past similar to 20 kyr from the Okinawa Trough, a marginal basin in the western Pacific. Osmium concentrations range from 53.0 to 166.5 pg g(-1), and Os-187/Os-188 ratios range from 0.993 to 1.073, mostly below the modern seawater average (1.060 +/- 0.010). The record reveals notable shifts (similar to 5-8%) that closely follow glacial-interglacial and millennial-scale climate changes, with lower values during cold periods and higher during warm intervals. This pattern likely reflects a global oceanic Os signature modulated by increased continental weathering and river runoff during warm climates. Notably, the orbital-scale shift was likely driven by enhanced continental Os flux and preferential release of radiogenic Os (Os-187) during deglacial weathering, especially during the B & oslash;lling-Aller & oslash;d warming. Although Chinese rivers discharged directly into the trough during the last glacial lowstand, their influence on seawater Os isotopes was limited (similar to 0.03 shift in Os-187/Os-188). Instead, excursions toward less radiogenic values during the last glacial period and other cold events (i.e., the Younger Dryas and the 4.2-ka cooling) are attributed to increased inflow of relatively unradiogenic North Pacific Intermediate Water, consistent with a global decline in continental Os flux during glacial periods. In the Holocene, significant inputs of unradiogenic hydrothermal Os via renewed Kuroshio Current inflow are also evident. Our study, together with records from other regions, highlights the globally coherent pattern in glacial-interglacial Os isotope shifts, providing evidence for a globally integrated response of continental weathering to climate change. |
