The relationship between the end-Permian Mass Extinction (EPME) and its impact on insects remains poorly understood. Here, we reported a new winged ice-crawler, Chauliodites qujingensis Hu, Zheng and Zhang, n. sp., from the Lower Triassic Kayitou Formation in eastern Yunnan, Southwest China. It represents the oldest-known insect after the EPME and so far the third reported Early Triassic insect in China. Spatio-temporal distribution of Chauliodites Heer, 1865 in China is summarized.
