X-Ray Investigations of Two Suspected Intermediate Polars: 2PBC J1911.4+1412 and SWIFT J0614.0+1709

英文摘要We present XMM-Newton X-ray observations of two intermediate polar candidates (2PBC J1911.4+1412 and SWIFT J0614.0+1709). Their spin periods are detected for the first time in X-rays: 747.58 +/- 0.49 s (>5 sigma) and 1411.61 +/- 2.67 s (>5 sigma), consistent with optical periods (Zwicky Transient Facility and TESS). The X-ray power spectrum of SWIFT J0614.0+1709 also reveals a sideband period of 1684.12 +/- 9.59 s (>3 sigma). Folded light curves show in-phase variations across all bands. The pulsed fraction decreases with increasing energy: for 2PBC J1911.4+1412, it is 77% +/- 5%, 44% +/- 7%, and 27% +/- 9% in the 0.3-2, 2-5, and 5-10 keV bands; for SWIFT J0614.0+1709, it is 84% +/- 15%, 49% +/- 8%, and 30% +/- 8% in the 0.3-2, 2-4, and 4-10 keV bands. This can be explained by spin-phase-dependent photoelectric absorption variations. Spectral analysis reveals the Fe K alpha fluorescence line in both sources, with equivalent widths of 166 and 182 eV. Plasma temperatures (kT) are 9.2 +/- 1.6 keV and 19.4 +/- 6.0 keV, respectively. These X-ray characteristics strongly support classifying both sources as intermediate polars.
