Ultra-fine conductive ZnO powders were prepared by sintering the precursor, synthesized from ZnSO(4)(.)7H(2)O, Al-2(SO4)(3)(.)18H(2)O, (NH3H2O)-H-. and NH4HCO3 by coprecipitation method, in the mixed atmosphere of H-2 and Ar. Properties of the samples were characterized by TEM, XRD and BET methods. It was found that the volume resistively of the sample decreased to 20 Omega(.)cm when Al addition was 1.6 mol%, which was much lower than that of conventional Zno powders. The average particle size of the sample was about 30 nm as measured by TEM and BET. The phase composition of the sample was the same as ZnO reagent by XRD analysis, and the specific surface area was about 35.2 m(2)/g. On this account, the material can be effectively used as conductive fillings in ceramics, fibers, dopes, rubbers, and in other fields.
