The Thermoelectric Performance Enhancement of N-type BiTeSe Alloys by Addition of ZnAlO

中文摘要A series of n-type BiTeSe/ZnAlO composites were prepared by zone melting method. Thermoelectric properties, including the electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity, were measured in the temperature range of 300-550K. Results show that electrical conductivities have been slightly lowered because ZnAlO has reduced the carrier concentration. However, the prematurely happened intrinsic excitation has shifted α peak to low temperature, which consequently shifted peak ZT to lower temperatures. Thus, BiTeSe/ZnAlO with significantly enhanced ZT value at 300 K is more attractive for cooling applications at ambient temperature.
