Landslide killed 99 persons in Guanling County ,Guizhou on 28th of June, 2010. It was influenced by local climatic conditions, geological conditions and topography conditions, and its formation mechanism and slippage were unique. The paper revealed the formation mechanism of this landslide through analyzing the formation conditions, developed characteristics and formation mechanism. Analysis showed that the landslide was triggered by rainfall, and the movement of landslide was partitioning that the bedrock glided after eboulis ordonnes sliding. In addition, landslide accumulation had the dual structure feature that landslide in the lower and the front part was gravel soil and block stone, while the landslide in the upper part of the accumulation was block stone. This structure was different with the accumulation of general landslide characteristics, and it was a typical evidence of twice landslides. The result was important for studying similar type of landslide and provided a reference for disaster prevention and disaster reduction in future.
