Probability distribution of landslides caused by earthquake-A case study in Wenchuan-Dujiangyan highway

| 英文摘要 | Gibson model based on Newmark displacement is used to calculate the probability distribution of landslide triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake. The study area is taken at the Dujiangyan-Wenchuan highway, where 169 landslides were identified. It is found that the probability increases with the increase of the Newmark displacement. When the displacement is smaller than 14cm, the probability rises abruptly and it finally achieves the top value of 30% or so. It is also found that 83% of the landslide in the study area are under probability of 5% and only 3% of them have probability bigger than 20%. |
