紫色土在中国南方广泛分布，是一类宝贵的农业土壤资源。根据中国典型省区代表性紫色土的微结构研究结果，提出了12种土壤微垒结类型及其鉴别指标，在此基础上研究和分析了中国紫色土主要分布区紫色土的微结构类型和特征。在按美国土壤系统分类制（ST制）对紫色土进行基层分类中，应用土壤微结构研究成果，有一定新意，且对丰富和提高土壤分类的内容和水平有一定价值，并建议大力推广。

Purple soils were distributed extensively over China, and served as precious soil resources for agriculture. After analyzing the microstructure of representative purple soil samples in the typical provinces and autonomous regions of China, twelve kinds of fabrics and indices to distinguish each fabric were proposed, and the types and features of microstructure of purple soils were discussed. It was creative to utilize the results in soil microstructure into lower category of purple soils in Soil Taxonomy (ST), and valubable to improve and consummate soil classification. Finally, the method was suggested to popularize.
