| 英文摘要 | The source region of Yellow River and Yangtze River is a typical upland pastoral region with extensive rangeland resources and a long history of pastoral livelihoods. Livestock production plays a central role in the economy of the region, especially for minority ethnic groups. However, harsh natural conditions and environment limit rangeland productivity. The pastoral ecosystem is now in a fragile condition. The combination of ecological vulnerability, high exposure to natural disasters, poverty of local pastoralists, and decline of pastoral productivity, caused by and resulting in poverty and a deteriorating environment, in turn inhibit the pastoralists' and government capacity to prevent and mitigate disasters. Sustainable development strategy needs a practical and realistic style of work, at the same time an ecological comprehensive program should be made. First of all, the governments must take measures to protect the rangeland based on its ecological vulnerability. Secondly, strengthen rangeland management. Thirdly, speed up technological extension and training. At last, some reformation must be carrying out, for example, we should try to promote and improve household grassland contracting responsibility system; actively promote various rangeland protection systems, etc. In dong so, the economic, ecological and social potential would be developed effectively through rangeland construction and sustainable development in the source region. |
