Techniques of Catalogue and Database applied to bebris flows and landslides are devloped in the project which is supported by the Special Foundation of Chinese Academy Sciences for Fundamental Rearch on Mountain Hazards-- Debris Flow &Landslide and lead to advancement as follows:(1) Normalization and standardization elements for catalogue of debris flows and landsdlides. (2) Catalogue form and guides reducing all characteristrics to numbers or choices for convenience of information collection. (3) Elemental date of 5800 gullies of debris flows and 4000 landslides filling the database.  (4) IS for testing regions involving space and model database ks developing under the software of PCA、 RC/INFD、PC ARCVIEW GIS. (5) Danger degree division in specical regions (ie. area of Xiao Jiang River and the Three Gorges in Changjiang River) by ultization of the database.
