中文摘要Nonmagnetic ions Zn, Ga, and Al are substituted for Cu in Sr14Cu24O41. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show that substitution affects magnetic properties of chains. The Curie-Weiss term at low temperature is almost unchanged. This suggests that local moments induced by nonmagnetic ions do not contribute to the Curie-Weiss term. On the other hand, the susceptibility of the CuO2 chain described by an alternating linear chain suggests that these local moments interact with neighboring Cu2+ spins to form a dimer. There is no indication for long-range antiferromagnetic ordering up to x=0.03. Resistivity measurements show that Sr14Cu24O41 becomes less semiconductive when Cu is substituted by Zn and Ga, and more semiconductive when substituted by Al.
