中文摘要The formation of surface Au/Pb alloys on it Pb-induced Si(111)-root 3 x root 3 surface is investigated Using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Two types of alloy islands, compact and loose islands. have been observed. The former shows a long-range ordered 3 x 3-Au/Pb reconstruction corresponding to an Au(0.57)Pb(0.43) alloy, while the latter is not totally disordered with it short-range ordered structure. Based oil the atomic structure of the Substrate around the compact islands. Si atoms are excluded in the formation process of the Au/Pb surface alloys. Q 2009 American Institute of Physics.
