中文摘要Quantum confinement of carriers leads to the absorption band-edge red-shift and discrete levels in Quantum dots Polaronic effect is found to be important in QDs recently This paper reports a model about the "confined polaron" for strong coupling of carrier-phonon, their size dependent formation possibilities and energy variation in different QDs systems, and an indication of contribution from both intrinsic and/or extrinsic phonons. The spectroscopic characteristics of stearate coated TiO2 nanoparticles are revisited by the above model. This model is useful to understand the luminescence phenomena of many QD systems.
