Thermal effects in photoemission from Bi(111) films on Si(111)-(7 x 7)

中文摘要 | Superconductor CaAlSi currently has the highest T(c) among the ternary silicides with AlB(2) structure. In this paper we report a hybrid microwave method for preparation of CaAlSi from Al, Si powders and Ca granules. Powder x-ray diffraction analysis indicates the CaAlSi is the dominating phase in the obtained sample. The zero-resistance temperature of the as-prepared sample is at 7.65 K and the superconducting transition width (10-90%) is 0.31 K. Long-time annealing in an Ar atmosphere reduced the superconducting transition width (Delta T(c) = 0.15 K). A series of CaAl(1-x)Cu(x)Si (0.01 <= x <= 0.06) samples were also prepared in order to study the substitution effect. It was found that the lattice parameters, both a and c, decrease with increasing Cu content. The T(c) strongly depends on composition, showing a non-linear decrease in CaAl(1-x)Cu(x)Si. The difference in T(c) could be attributed to the lower N(E(F)) and Theta(D) based on the BCS theory. Additionally, a sample of CaAl(1-3x)Cu(x)Si(1+2x) (x = 0.02) was prepared which has the same number of electrons per cell as CaAlSi. It is expected to have approximately the same N(E(F)) as CaAlSi according to the rigid-band model. The T(c) of CaAl(1-3x)Cu(x)Si(1+2x) (x = 0.02) is slightly higher than that of CaAl(1-x)Cu(x)Si (x = 0.02), indicating that N(E(F)) plays a role in the change of T(c). |
