中文摘要 | Neutron powder diffraction patterns have been collected from Pr6Fe11Al3 over the temperature range from 20 to 480 K. The patterns display antiferromagnetic ordering below T-N similar to 260 K. The magnetic cell is derived from the atomic cell by halving along the c-axis around the planes of Al atoms. Within each 1/2 cell the coupling is ferromagnetic and planar, and the two halves couple antiferromagnetically. Assuming collinear ferromagnetic coupling within each 1/2 cell, Rietveld analysis gives saturation moments of 1.28(3)mu(B)/atom for Fe and 2.38(7)mu(B)/atom for Pr. The analysis also reveals unusual thermal expansion along the c-axis below T-N, related to changes in the interplanar spacings around the Al planes. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
