英文摘要 | Debris flows are cornmon natural phenomena in the mountain areas of China. They occur in small mountainous watersheds. As a double-phased solid and liquid flow laden with a lot of sediments and rocks, it is in the moving conditions of a viscous laminar flow or a fluid turbulent flow , which is the result of the combined effects of various natural factors (geology, geomorphology, hydrology, meteorology, vegitation, soil and so on) and human factor. Ch缸acterised by their complicated occurrence process, sudden outburst, violent movement, short duration and powerful destructibility, debris flows have become one of the heavy disasters in the mountains. Debris flow activities are distributed alomost over all the mountainous areas of the world, especially in the recent sharply uplifted mountain systems. There are more than 50 countries where debris flows are very frequent. China is so widely mountainous that 70% of its total area is occupied by mountains. Most of these mountains are located in the monsoon climate zones with concentrated precipitation, intense earth clust movement, frequent earthquakes, and steep, strongly dissected topography. All these are basic conditions for the occurrence of debris flows and their activities (unexpected torrents and large quantities of debris materials). That is why debris flow activities are continuous in China. The development of economic construction in mountainous areas is severely hampered, which has attracted the concern of the government. |
