英文摘要 | Lifetimes of highly excited Rydberg states of ytterbium for 6sns S-1(0) and 6snd D-1(2) (n = 21-27) have been measured using delayed electric-field ionization (DEFI). The experimental data are compared with the calculated results derived from numerical integration based on the hydrogenic model. The influences of environmental radiation on the determination of lifetimes of Rydberg states and the availability of the hydrogenic model when applied to highly excited states of complex atoms are discussed.
