Silicon carbide (SiC) is a new type candidate material for large-scale lightweight space mirror. Its low thermal distortion  high stiffness  fine optical quality and dimensional stability  make SiC an ideal material for large space born telescope. Since ten years Changchun institute optics  fine mechanics and physics (CIOMP) has developed reaction bonded SiC (RB-SiC) technology for space application  and can fabricate RB-SiC mirror with scale less than 1.0 meter for telescope. The green body is prepared with gel-casting method which is an attractive new ceramic forming process for making high-quality  complex-shaped ceramic parts. And then unmolding  drying  binder burning out  reacting bonded  the RB-SiC can be obtained. But with the development of space-born or ground telescope  the scale of primary mirror has exceeded 1.0 meter. So CIOMP has developed an assembly technique which called novel reaction-formed joint technology for larger RB-SiC mirror blank. The steps include joining of green bodies with mixture comprised of SiC particles and phenolic resin etc  firing  machining and sintering. Joining the 1.2 meter RB-SiC mirror blank by the novel reaction-formed joint technology. And testing the welding layer's performance  the results show that the thickness of 54-77m  the microstructure and thermal property can be comparable to the substrate and the mechanical property are excellent in bending strength of 307MPa. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

With the development of the resolution of spaceborne remote sensor  the diameter of the primary mirror of spaceborne telescope becomes larger and larger. The distortion of primary mirror which is influenced by the mirror material  structure  self-weight  support system and temperature environment affects optical image quality finally. In this paper  an on-axis TMA high-resolution Cassegrain optical payload with a primary mirror whose diameter is 650mm was designed and the effects of the influence factors of the distortion acts on the on-axis TMA optical system primary mirror had been analyzed by means of Finite Element Analysis. During work  the technology of the primary mirror design had been summarized and general consideration of the primary mirror design technology also had been described at the same time. Considering the telescope manufacture and work station  a reasonable and optimal structure of the primary mirror sub-assembly is taken finally. In the end  the distortion of the primary mirror during its fabrication station and work station had been analyzed by integrated Finite Element Analysis Method. The results implicated the synthesis profile error (P-V value) for the primary mirror is less than /10 and all the indexes of the primary mirror satisfy the requirements of the optical system.

TDICCD assembly is a major method of acquiring wide field for space camera. For the demand of space camera's wide view field and high resolution  the technique of mechanical interleaving assembly is discussed. Its principle  method of adjusting and testing as well as the structure of focal plane are described. Using mechanical tangent-screws adjusting method  the assembly with TDI CCDs for wide field space camera focal plane is finished on the facility which is composed of a long work-distance microscope and a negative pressure and adsorption guide apparatus. The assembly length of TDICCD focal plane for wide field space camera reaches 560mm  and the measuring error is not more than 3.2 m  the mechanical interleaving assembly method has effect of zero clearance and can achieve good image quality.
