A coarse and fine combined fast search and auto-focusing algorithm was suggested in this paper. This method can automatically search and find the focal plane by evaluating the image definition. The Krisch operator based edge energy function was used as the big-step coarse focusing  and then the wavelet transform based image definition evaluation function  which is sensitivity to the variation in image definition  was used to realize the small-step fine focusing in a narrow range. The un-uniform sampling function of the focusing area selection used in this method greatly reduces the workload and the required time for the data processing. The experimental results indicate that this algorithm can satisfy the requirement of the optical measure equipment for the image focusing. (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

In order to solve the compute-intensive character of image processing  based on advantages of GPU parallel operation  parallel acceleration processing technique is proposed for image. First  efficient architecture of GPU is introduced that improves computational efficiency  comparing with CPU. Then  Sobel edge detector and homomorphic filtering  two representative image processing algorithms  are embedded into GPU to validate the technique. Finally  tested image data of different resolutions are used on CPU and GPU hardware platform to compare computational efficiency of GPU and CPU. Experimental results indicate that if data transfer time  between host memory and device memory  is taken into account  speed of the two algorithms implemented on GPU can be improved approximately 25 times and 49 times as fast as CPU  respectively  and GPU is practical for image processing. 2010 IEEE.

When CCD camera photographs massive images in the air  it is very important to compress and save CCD image timely and validly. This paper designs the CCD image compression and mass storage system. The one part is image compression: this paper introduces a reduced memory still image compression algorithm based on Listless Zerotree Coding (LZC). Compared with SPIHT  the approach significantly reduced memory requirement and no reducing the quality of the reconstructed image. The other part is image mass storage: this system uses a kind of special hard disk storage devices that can realize faster data transmission to SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) devices even if it separates oneself from PCs. In the faster data acquisition and storage system  data storage is a key technology. Normal approach is saving the data to mass memories  and then processing and saving the data after complete acquisition. The continuous acquisition time is restricted with the storage capacity in the normal method so that it can't receive the requirement of CCD image storage on many occasions. While its price will be geminate increasing  when we increase the storage capacity. So the approach in this paper is better one to use fast disks on data direct mass storage considering the storage capacity  read/write speed and unit cost. The result of the experiment shows that the system has compressed and saved CCD image validly  so it reached the anticipative purpose.
