According to the disadvantage of the large noises of histogram equalization algorithm  a new adaptive image enhancement algorithm is presented. First  the statistical histogram of the infrared image is done. Then the threshold of plateaus Equalization is calculated and the statistical histogram is modified. Finally the bright values of the pixels of the image are changed. An embedded high speed image enhancement processing system on high performance DSP TMS320DM642 and FPGA was designed. Experimental results with real images shown that the system can improve the contrast of the infrared image  limit the noises of the enhancement image  and effectively enhance the infrared image  the running time of the program is shorter  so it can meet the requirements of real-time in the project. Currently  the IR cameras are broadly used in the optic-electronic tracking  optic-electronic measuring  fire control and optic-electronic countermeasure field  but the output sequence of the most presently applied IR cameras in the project is complex and the giving sequence documents from the leave factory are not detailed. Aiming at the requirement that the continuous image transmission and image procession system need the detailed sequence of the IR cameras  the sequence measurement system of the IR camera is designed  and the detailed sequence measurement way of the applied IR camera is carried out. The FPGA programming combined with the SignalTap online observation way has been applied in the sequence measurement system  and the precise sequence of the IR camera's output signal has been achieved  the detailed document of the IR camera has been supplied to the continuous image transmission system  image processing system and etc. The sequence measurement system of the IR camera includes CameraLink input interface part  LVDS input interface part  FPGA part  CameraLink output interface part and etc  thereinto the FPGA part is the key composed part in the sequence measurement system. Both the video signal of the CmaeraLink style and the video signal of LVDS style can be accepted by the sequence measurement system  and because the image processing card and image memory card always use the CameraLink interface as its input interface style  the output signal style of the sequence measurement system has been designed into CameraLink interface. The sequence measurement system does the IR camera's sequence measurement work and meanwhile does the interface transmission work to some cameras. Inside the FPGA of the sequence measurement system  the sequence measurement program  the pixel clock modification  the SignalTap file configuration and the SignalTap online observation has been integrated to realize the precise measurement to the IR camera. Te sequence measurement program written by the verilog language combining the SignalTap tool on line observation can count the line numbers in one frame  pixel numbers in one line and meanwhile account the line offset and row offset of the image. Aiming at the complex sequence of the IR camera's output signal  the sequence measurement system of the IR camera accurately measures the sequence of the project applied camera  supplies the detailed sequence document to the continuous system such as image processing system and image transmission system and gives out the concrete parameters of the fval  lval  pixclk  line offset and row offset. The experiment shows that the sequence measurement system of the IR camera can get the precise sequence measurement result and works stably  laying foundation for the continuous system. 2011 Copyright Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).

Target detection and tracking technology in infrared image is an important part of modern military defense system. Infrared dim-point targets detection and recognition under complex background is a difficulty and important strategic value and challenging research topic. The main objects that carrier-borne infrared vigilance system detected are sea-skimming aircrafts and missiles. Due to the characteristics of wide field of view of vigilance system  the target is usually under the sea clutter. Detection and recognition of the target will be taken great difficulties.There are some traditional point target detection algorithms  such as adaptive background prediction detecting method. When background has dispersion-decreasing structure  the traditional target detection algorithms would be more useful. But when the background has large gray gradient  such as sea-sky-line  sea waves etc.The bigger false-alarm rate will be taken in these local area.It could not obtain satisfactory results. Because dim-point target itself does not have obvious geometry or texture feature  in our opinion  from the perspective of mathematics  the detection of dim-point targets in image is about singular function analysis.And from the perspective image processing analysis  the judgment of isolated singularity in the image is key problem. The foregoing points for dim-point targets detection  its essence is a separation of target and background of different singularity characteristics.The image from infrared sensor usually accompanied by different kinds of noise. These external noises could be caused by the complicated background or from the sensor itself. The noise might affect target detection and tracking. Therefore  the purpose of the image preprocessing is to reduce the effects from noise  also to raise the SNR of image  and to increase the contrast of target and background. According to the low sea-skimming infrared flying small target characteristics  the median filter is used to eliminate noise  improve signal-to-noise ratio  then the multi-point multi-storey vertical Sobel algorithm will be used to detect the sea-sky-line  so that we can segment sea and sky in the image. Finally using centroid tracking method to capture and trace target. To improve the image processing system of resolution capability and reliability  image processing system in a growing number of multi-sensor model. In this mode  the use of the current main stream single DSP + FPGA hardware architecture for image processing algorithms have already unable to meet the operational requirements of real-time. This paper proposed a new hardware architecture that is the three DSPs based on FPGA. With the traditional master-slave architectures is different  three DSP's external interfaces are connected with FPGA and other peripheral interfaces are connected to the FPGA. In the architecture  DSP is in the same position three and FPGA flow control for data management and other function to achieve. This connection has a strong restructuring and expansion  software development and more flexible. 2011 IEEE.

Image motion compensation is significantly important for aerial camera photograph. To execute the compensation  we must determine the image motion exactly. This paper proposes a method of real-time image motion measurement for panoramic aerial cameras based on image processing using a hybrid system. Two cameras are simultaneously used in the hybrid system. One main linear CCD for imaging  while the other auxiliary low resolution high frame rate area CCD for determining the image motion based on 2D spatial correlation. The demanding computational requirements for the real-time 2D spatial correlation are covered by a joint transform optical correlator. Simulation test results show that the accuracy is improved and the measurement error is within 0.2 pixels for input images with SNR=1 dB. 2010 IEEE.

In order to eliminate the influence of aircraft attitude angle to the image quality of space camera  and assure that the drift angle of space camera could be accurately adjusted at the orbit  a novel closed-loop test method is provided for real-time drift angle adjustment of space camera on the Earth. A long focal length dynamic aim generator is applied to simulate the image motion and the variety drift angle  and to detect the precision of the image motion compensation machinery and the capability of the drift angle control system. The computer system is used to control the dynamic aim generator  accomplish the data processing  transmit and receive the data information. The seamless connection and the data transmission between the aim generator and the aircraft simulation devices are constituted. The command  parameter and drift angle data transmitted by the simulation devices are received by the space camera at the real time  then the photos are taken and the draft angle is adjusted simultaneously. It is shown that the drift angle can be accurately tracked by the space camera at the real time  and the detective method satisfies the test requirement. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

A key problem of attitude measurement of small-multi-target with high speed is how to decide the optimum of the CMOS stations. A multi-CMOS station mode is designed in this paper  multiple CMOS videos were placed on two parallel sides in measurement system  every two CMOS form an intersection viewing field  multiple viewing field join to cover shooting range  which can augment Effective Viewing Field(EVF)  increase capture ratio of objects with high speed and measurement precision of small objects. When an object passes through the joint area  it will be imaged separately on each CMOS focal plane. Multiple CMOS videos were triggered synchronously  a sequence of image information was extracted  the target attitude was confirmed by digital image processing technology. The merit of station mode is low cost  large measurement scope  extending freely and so on. 2010 IEEE.
