The traditional Hausdorff measure, which uses Euclidean distance metric (L2 norm) to define the distance between coordinates of any two points, has poor performance in the presence of the rotation and scale change although it is robust to the noise and occlusion. To address the problem, we define a novel similarity function including two parts in this paper. The first part is Hausdorff distance between shapes which is calculated by exploiting shape context that is rotation and scale invariant as the distance metric. The second part is the cost of matching between centroids. Unlike the traditional method, we use the centroid as reference point to obtain its shape context that embodies global information of the shape. Experiment results demonstrate that the function value between shapes is rotation and scale invariant and the matching accuracy of our algorithm is higher than that of previously proposed algorithm on the MEPG-7 database.

Local variance and single pixel value are combined to describe image structure information using complex method in this paper in order to improve the consistency of objective image assessment result with that of subjective method. The effect of the detail structure information on the image quality was emphasized by this method accordingly. Singular value decomposition was performed on local variance distribution complex matrix. The angle between the singular value vectors of the reference image and the disturbed image was used to measure their structural similarity. Then the quality assessment process was achieved. Results from experiments show that the proposed method is better consistent with human visual system characteristics than MSE
PSNR

Image mosaic is an important branch in the field of image processing. This paper designs and realizes an image mosaic technique based on the information of edge. The technology is suitable for engineering application. First of all
two images of the adjoining frames are processed by convolution operation
get the edge images. And then we cut edge image into pieces and compute their spatial frequency. According to the value of the spatial frequency select reasonable registration model group. We compute correlation strength and the value of movement offset which are the model group and the current frame edge image. We can complete image mosaic by them. We use video sequence which of the resolution is 1024 * 768 do the experiment. The results show that the method has good effect and strong adaptability. Algorithm is high efficiency which running time is 24 ms. It is suitable for real-time processing requirements of the application. This method is an effective mosaic technique which is suitable for engineering application. 2012 IEEE.

Being an efficient method of information fusion
image fusion has been used in many fields such as machine vision
medical diagnosis
military applications and remote sensing.In this paper
Pulse Coupled Neural Network (PCNN) is introduced in this research field for its interesting properties in image processing
including segmentation
target recognition et al.
and a novel algorithm based on PCNN and Wavelet Transform for Multi-focus image fusion is proposed. First
the two original images are decomposed by wavelet transform. Then
based on the PCNN
a fusion rule in the Wavelet domain is given. This algorithm uses the wavelet coefficient in each frequency domain as the linking strength
so that its value can be chosen adaptively. Wavelet coefficients map to the range of image gray-scale. The output threshold function attenuates to minimum gray over time. Then all pixels of image get the ignition. So
the output of PCNN in each iteration time is ignition wavelet coefficients of threshold strength in different time. At this moment
the sequences of ignition of wavelet coefficients represent ignition timing of each neuron. The ignition timing of PCNN in each neuron is mapped to corresponding image gray-scale range
which is a picture of ignition timing mapping. Then it can judge the targets in the neuron are obvious features or not obvious. The fusion coefficients are decided by the compare-selection operator with the firing time gradient maps and the fusion image is reconstructed by wavelet inverse transform. Furthermore
by this algorithm
the threshold adjusting constant is estimated by appointed iteration number. Furthermore

the ability of optoelectronic rivalry declines heavily.Here we provide a brand new controlling algorithm for the semi-automatic searching and infrared tracking based on inertial navigation platform. Now it is applying well in our XX infrared optoelectronic searching and tracking system. The algorithm is mainly divided into two steps: The artificial mode turns into auto-searching when the deviation of guide exceeds the current scene under the course of leading for radar.When the threshold value of the image picked-up is satisfied by the contrast of the target in the searching scene
the speed computed by using the CA model Least Square Method feeds back to the speed loop. And then combine the infrared information to accomplish the closed-loop control of the infrared optoelectronic system tracking. The algorithm is verified via experiment. Target capturing distance is 22.3 kilometers on the great lead deviation by using the algorithm. But without using the algorithm the capturing distance declines 12 kilometers. The algorithm advances the ability of infrared optoelectronic rivalry and declines the target capturing time by using semi-automatic searching and reliable capturing-tracking

In this paper
local variance is used to describe the structural information of a color image in order to assess its quality. The representation method is different from conventional models in that some information that is sensitive to human eyes is enhanced by using local variance distribution. It encodes the local variance distribution of different channels of a color image into the three imaginary parts of a quaternion. The distance between the singular value feature vectors of the source image block and the distorted image block which are described by quaternion matrices is calculated. The experimental results show that the assessment results of the proposed assessment method are more consistent with the Human Visual System than those of the conventional assessment methods.

To avoid the loss of image information when it is transferred through optical sparse aperture system with excessively diluted apertures arrangement
we propose a method in the frequency domain termed characteristic triangle to calculate the minimum fill factor. This method is based on the characteristics of MTF and demonstrates that when the characteristic triangle is equilateral with each side 3th power of sub-MTF cutoff frequency
MTF has no zero value below cutoff frequency
thus we can obtain the minimum fill factor. Furthermore
we apply it to some typical sparse arrays
such as Golay3
Golay6
Ring6 and Tri-arm7
and get their fill factors of 33.33%
15.16%
30.11%
and 11.14% correspondingly
which are consistent with numerical results. 2011 IEEE.

A new approach to assess the performance of color image fusion algorithms is proposed. The color information is fully used by this method. Quaternions are used to encode the pixels in a color image into a quaternion matrix. Local variance of the luminance layer of the color image is taken as the real part of a quaternion
then the three RGB channels of the color image are encoded into the three imaginary parts of a quaternion. The angle between the singular value feature vectors of the quaternion matrices corresponding to one of the source image and the fused image is used to measure their structural similarity. Edge information transferring is used to balance the sensitivity of the assessment methods. Experimental results show that the proposed assessment method is better consistent with the HVS than some of the state-of-the-art method. Accurate assessment results can be given by the proposed method for various of color image fusion algorithms by using the source images and the fused image. 2010 IEEE.

Super-resolution is a term for a set of methods of increasing image or video resolution. All these methods are based on the same idea: using information from several images to create one upsized image. In most of the super-resolution algorithms
the blur parameter of a LR-image model is always manually set as a default value. In this paper
we propose a method to adaptively estimate the blur parameter. We get the initial image of iteration by fusing all low-resolution images. When it is used in MAP algorithm
three iterations are enough to get a stable solution. It is greatly reduce the computational power compared with other MAP algorithms. Experiments to real image sequences show that it well preserved the image detail and the reconstructed image is clear. 2010 IEEE.
