The traditional Hausdorff measure, which uses Euclidean distance metric (L2 norm) to define the distance between coordinates of any two points, has poor performance in the presence of the rotation and scale change although it is robust to the noise and occlusion. To address the problem, we define a novel similarity function including two parts in this paper. The first part is Hausdorff distance between shapes which is calculated by exploiting shape context that is rotation and scale invariant as the distance metric. The second part is the cost of matching between centroids. Unlike the traditional method, we use the centroid as reference point to obtain its shape context that embodies global information of the shape. Experiment results demonstrate that the function value between shapes is rotation and scale invariant and the matching accuracy of our algorithm is higher than that of previously proposed algorithm on the MEPG-7 database.

We investigated electro-optic modulator structures to target low drive voltage  high-speed modulation  and small device size with c-axis grown BaTiO3/MgO ferro-electric thin films. In this study  the calculations are focused on the ideal thin film with a quadratic relation between the half-wave drive voltage V and the interaction length L in the electro-optic modulation case we obtained in previous work. With the quadratic electro-optic modulating relation and the optimal rib waveguide structure of BaTiO3/MgO thin films  the frequency-voltage-size performances for 2.5GHz  10GHz  40GHz  and 100GHz modulation bandwidths have been obtained under half-wave drive voltages of 0.8V  1.6V  3.0V and 4.8V  respectively  for the ideal film with r51=730 pm/V at 1550nm wavelength  where both the phase velocity matching condition and the conductor induced microwave attenuation are considered. The required device lengths to achieve these four typical values of modulation bandwidth are 3.3 mm  0.8 mm  0.4 mm and 0.2 mm  respectively. With the c-axis grown BaTiO3/MgO crystal thin films and the quadratic electro-optic modulating relation  an electro-optic coefficient of reff=180 pm/V for the c-axis grown BaTiO3/MgO ferro-electric thin films was measured  which is relatively far from the ideal value of r51=560 pm/V. copyright The Electrochemical Society.

Munsell color system is selected to establish the mutual conversion between RGB and L*a*b* color model for camera. The color luminance meter and CCD camera synchronously measure the same color card  XYZ value is gotten from the color luminance meter  the training error is 0.000748566  it can show that the method combining second general revolving combination design with genetic algorithm can optimize the hidden-layer structure of neural network. Using the data of testing set to test this network and calculating the color difference between forecast value and true value  the color picture captured from CCD camera is expressed for RGB value as the input of neural network  and the L*a*b* value converted from XYZ value is regarded as the real color value of target card  which the difference is not obvious comparing with forecast result  the maximum is 5.6357 NBS  namely the output of neural network. The neural network of two hidden-layers is considered  the minimum is 0.5311 NBS  so the second general revolving combination design is introduced into optimizing the structure of neural network  and the average of color difference is 3.1744 NBS.  which can carry optimization through unifying project design  data processing and the precision of regression equation. Their mathematics model of encoding space is gained  and the significance inspection shows the confidence degree of regression equation is 99%.
