A novel speckle patterns processing method is presented using multi-scale wavelet techniques. Laser speckle patterns generated from the sample contained abundant information. In this paper
we propose a method using wavelet entropy techniques to analyze the speckle patterns and exact the information on the sample surface. In our case
we used this approach to test the solar silicon cell surface profiles based on the sym8 orthogonal wavelet family. According different wavelet entropy values
the micro-structure of different solar silicon cell surfaces were comparative analyzed. Furthermore
we studied the AFM and reflective spectra of the wafer. Results show that the wavelet entropy speckle processing method is effective and accurate. And the experiment proved that this method is a useful tool to investigate the surface profile quality. 2011 SPIE.

This paper describes a novel hierarchy algorithm for extracting bridges over water in optical images. To reduce the omission of bridges by searching the edge
we extract the river regions which the bridges are included in. Firstly
we segment the optical image to get the coarse water bodies using iterative threshold
eliminate the noise regions and add the missing regions based on k-means clustering with texture information and spatial coherence. Then
the blanks are connected based on shape features and candidate bridge regions are segmented from river regions. Finally
the bridges are verified by geometric information and the ubiety between bridges and river. The results show that this approach is efficient and effective for extracting bridges in satellite image from Google Earth and in aerial optical images acquired by unmanned aerial vehicle. 2011 IEEE.

The radial spiral feed of the tool and the tool nose radius compensation are taken into consideration for the tool position trajectory (TPT) generation in diamond turning of freeform optical surfaces. Using the coarse sampling and the fine interpolation
a novel approach based on singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is presented to decompose the generated TPT into a slowly varying trend and a quickly varying quasi-periodic oscillation. The numerical experiments of the TPT decomposition of toroidal surfaces have been carried out. The results verify that the proposed approach is very effective for the TPT decomposition. A novel approach for evaluating the tracking performance of optoelectronic theodolite is proposed. First
an equivalent mathematic model of tracking error is established. Then
the equivalent sine signal is inputted to the equivalent model
and the outputs are sampled. The results of evaluating the tracking performance are obtained based on the statistical calculation of output produced by equivalent model. Equivalent model using the BP (Backprogration) neural network structure is identified. The training method of BP neural network adopts the LM (Levenberg-Marquardt) algorithm for the sake of speeding up training process. The BP neural network is trained and tested by using the training and testing samples gotten from the simulation model of optoelectronic theodolite tracking system under MATLAB/SIMULINK. The estimate errors of equivalent model including average error
maximum error and standard error are 2.5872e-0060
2.8 and 1.9. The results show that the equivalent model identified based on BP neural network meets the needs of evaluating the tracking performance of optoelectronic theodolite. The accurate evaluation of tracking performance is achieved. 2009 SPIE.

A novel auto-focusing technique using a self imaging approach is developed for an aerospace camera having large aperture and long focus. Its optical system consists of an emitting system
receiving system
and two penta-prisms. Emitting system has three parts: a light source
beamsplitter
and aim slit. The receiving system includes a field lens
two separate lenses
and CCD. Using two little penta-prisms instead of a large planar mirror makes the autofocus system simple and compact. CCD was used as photoelectric converting device. A defocused signal is acquired by measuring the change of the two slit self-images position imaged on the CCD. A simple and compact construction of the auto-focusing system was proposed. The algorithm to calculate the moving of the slit-self images position was analyzed in order to achieve subpixel position estimation. The results of the experiments show a 10m focusing precision. The system demonstrates high resolution
easy adjustment and high reliability.

This paper will introduce the principle and techniques to realize laser color video display. The characteristics of techniques and bottleneck of restricting the development are analyzed. A novel technical approach to eliminating the laser interference
improving the uniformity of optical field
transforming the chromaticity and extending the virtual color is proposed. The principle device of laser display system has been produced on the basis of the blue
green and red diode-pumped solid state lasers. The wavelengths of the blue
green and red are respectively 473nm
532nm and 671 nm. The output powers of the lasers are 1.3W
0.32W and 3.5W respectively.
