To avoid the loss of image information when it is transferred through optical sparse aperture system with excessively diluted apertures arrangement
we propose a method in the frequency domain termed characteristic triangle to calculate the minimum fill factor. This method is based on the characteristics of MTF and demonstrates that when the characteristic triangle is equilateral with each side 3th power of sub-MTF cutoff frequency
MTF has no zero value below cutoff frequency
thus we can obtain the minimum fill factor. Furthermore
we apply it to some typical sparse arrays
such as Golay3
Golay6
Ring6 and Tri-arm7
and get their fill factors of 33.33%
15.16%
30.11%
and 11.14% correspondingly
which are consistent with numerical results. 2011 IEEE.

Self-similar fractal elements that has multiband properties can be advantageously exploited to design simple
multiband FSS on single screen. In this paper
fractal Y aperture FSS has been designed using recursive technology and the periodic method of moments(PMoM) is employed to characterize the transmission properties of FSS as band-pass filters. The frequency response to the structure parameters when electromagnetic wave incident with different angles and polarizations is discussed and the numerical analysis show good correlation to the measured results. 2010 IEEE.

Annular subaperture stitching interferometric technology can test large-aperture
and the PV and RMS of residual error of the full aperture phase distribution is 0.027 and 0.0023
high numerical aperture aspheric surfaces with high resolution
the relative error of PV and RMS is -0.53% and -0.31%
respectively. The results conclude that this splicing model and algorithm are accurate and feasible. So it provides another quantitive measurement for test aspheric surfaces especially for large aperture aspheres besides null-compensation.

the basic principle and theory of the stitching method are introduced
the reasonable mathematical model and effective splicing algorithm are established based on simultaneous least-squares method and Zernike polynomial fitting. The translation errors are eliminated from each subaperture through the synthetical optimization stitching mode

the surface map of the full aperture after stitching is consistent to the input surface map
