In this paper
we summarize the researches of liquid crystal (LC) adaptive optics(AO) in astronomical applications. Dual frequency and nematic LC materials were reported to be used in astronomical observations. However
nematic LC with its simple producing and driving method and multi-gray-level is promising in the application. We have investigated the nematic LC AO system and promoted its application for nearly ten years. Here
we reported our newest nematic LC AO system with bandwidth result of 3dB is 54.4 Hz
0dB bandwidth is 79.1Hz. 2012 IEEE.

The paper presents a simple and fast approach for moving object segmentation based on H.264 compressed domain information for the application of indoor video surveillance with static camera. Due to the characteristics of indoor video surveillance
the proposed method of segmentation avoids complicated background model like Gaussian Mixture background model. On the contrary
it chooses some simple information like the type of Macroblock
etc.. Experimental results of several specific H.264 compressed video sequences demonstrate the good segmentation quality of the proposed approach. 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents the design and analysis of an axial flux permanent-magnet (AFPM) machine for nanosatellites application. It is a miniature axial flux surface mounted permanent magnet flywheel motor
using a printed circuit board (PCB) stator winding. The PCB stator has simplified the design and construction and avoids unnecessary space
since size reduction has become one of the most important aspects of flywheel motor design for nanosatellites. The performances of the machine are estimated by combination method of three-dimensional (3D) electromagnetic finite element analysis (FEA) and approximate theoretical analysis. The back EMF and electromagnetic torque are derived. A comparison between the analysis and experimental measurement results of the prototype machine is also presented. Both simulated and experimental results show that the proposed motor would be an acceptable solution for the nanosatellite applications with advantages such as simple structure and low-cost
as multi-layer circuit board production techniques have made the production of printed circuit coils cheaper and easier. 2012 IEEE.
