The study about the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for wideband signals is a basic topic of Signal Processing. The method called test of orthogonality of projected subspaces (TOPS) does not require initial values to form focusing matrix compared with the coherent signal subspace method (CSSM)
but it has poor performance for coherent wideband signals at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Based on the lack of the conventional TOPS
this paper reconstructs a set of new matrices with the narrowband correlated matrices coming from the DFT decomposition of the array output and modifies the method frame of the conventional TOPS. So we get a set of reconstructed matrices with full rank corresponding to each frequency bin
and which have no array aperture loss. The improved TOPS can estimate the DOA for coherent wideband sources at low SNR
and enhances the performance of the conventional TOPS. Simulation results show that the improved TOPS is effective
and the total performance of which is similar to the rotational signal-subspace (RSS) method. (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

In order to solve the problem of precise temperature control
the thermoelectric cooler (TEC) principle widely used is analyzed for the design of the whole control process and selection of control parameters
and then accurate simulation model of the TEC is established in Proteus simulation software. Moreover
combined with the traditional circuit simulation model
the temperature control loop is designed
and the response characteristics of the system are tested using an input signal similar to the unit-step function to achieve the precise temperature control. Simulation results show that the proposed control circuits can precisely convert error signal to output voltage sent to TEC model
and TEC model behaves approximately like a two-pole system. The first pole starts at 20mHz and a second pole at 1Hz. 2011 IEEE.

The development of intelligent system which accorded with human cognitive mechanism will exert a profound influence on national defense
economy
education
culture and etc. A computer simulation method according with cognitive mechanism of human vision was proposed on the basis of Structural Decomposition Theory. Many basic shape feature information tables of similar object from different side can determine a kind of object uniquely. System weighted basic shape features in two different information tables by membership degree and then calculated similarity. The identifying object which had the maximum similarity with it in system was what we needed. The system used 83 pictures of 6 kinds of objects with different side for training and testing. The experiment results demonstrated
task of basic shape extraction
object recognition and others can be completed effectively with the method in paper. The method in paper can be a new attempt on computer simulation method according with cognitive mechanism of human vision from cognitive field. 2010 Crown Copyright.

Subspace based methods have been widely discussed in multichannel estimation including MIMO-OFDM system. However
direct subspace methods suffer from heavy computation complexity y of O(N3). In this paper
a new subspace tracking technique called Fast Data Projection Method (FDPM) is proposed for adaptively tracking the noise subspace. The new algorithm has low complexity of O(NL) and is the only numerically stable
low complexity algorithm for tracking subspaces corresponding to the smallest singular values. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has similar performance to the original. 2009 IEEE.

As a result of comparative study on human visual and Free Space Optical (FSO) communication
a new concept of satellites laser interconnect was proposed based on human bionics. For the laser link is difficult to set up directly
a new concept was given out based on the three processes of human visual capturing the objectives: voice assisting to guide
eyes' wide Field Of View (FOV) cursory capturing and eyes' foveal FOV high-resolution imaging. Three similar processes were introduced to spaceborne laser interconnect which were radio assisting to guide
beacons laser wide FOV capturing and communication laser narrow FOV capturing
so that the difficulty of setting up the optical communication link was reduced evidently. Meanwhile
the antenna optical system based on the bionics was given out. Each laser terminal configured two independent optical antenna
through the spaceborne storage and time-domain link switching
complex topology network could be set up. The simulation system was built using Virtual Reality Toolbox
the result showed that the laser terminal could search and set up communication links
which took about only lOOms from capturing the beacon to setting up communication. 2009 IEEE.

This paper presents a method for detecting and tracking of low contrast targets. The new method uses an integer-type lifting wavelet transform and the proposed method doesn't extract patterns similar to a template
but finds parts having the same feature in the targets. We utilize one of integer-type lifting wavelet transforms that contains rounding-off arithmetic for mapping integers to integers. The lifting term contains parameters that are learned by using standard training images of targets. We assume that the targets include many high frequency components. In order to obtain the features of the targets
the lifting parameters are determined by a condition that high frequency components are vanished in wavelet transform. But the condition cannot be determined by the parameters wholly. So
we put an additional condition of minimizing the squared sum of the lifting parameters. The advantage of using integer-type wavelet transform is simple and robust to noise. Simulation illustrated the approach can detect and track the moving targets in dim background. We would test our algorithm in the TV tracking system.

In this paper an arc fault detection method Is proposed based on characteristics of the fault current of an electric arc. A localized signal processing method Is developed using wavelet analysis to decompose the differential current signal Into a series of wavelet components
each of which Is a time-domain signal that covers a specific frequency band. Thus
more distinctive signal features that represent arc faults and other fault transient phenomena are extracted. As a result
by quantifying the extracted features
an arc faults are distinguished from phenomena similar to arc and other fault transients using the differences In the quantified features. Simulation studies have demonstrated that the proposed method Is reliable and simple. 2006 IEEE.
