The effect of the detail structure information on the image quality was emphasized by this method accordingly. Singular value decomposition was performed on local variance distribution complex matrix. The angle between the singular value vectors of the reference image and the disturbed image was used to measure their structural similarity. Then the quality assessment process was achieved. Results from experiments show that the proposed method is better consistent with human visual system characteristics than MSE PSNR and SSIM. 2012 Springer-Verlag London Limited.

The factors influencing the measuring precision are also analyzed. Then the algorithm is adopted to fit curves. Experimental results indicate that the singular value decomposition is very precise for its error sum is 1.1102V and the squared error is 2.8mV. Moreover for phase angle measurement measured six times in same direction the squared error is 24 (1). The method based on SVD can satisfy the system precision requirements of curve-fitting north seeking systems. 2011 IEEE.

In this paper is presented an alignment algorithm whose main idea is composed of damped least square method and singular value decomposition method. In addition the how and why to enter the damped factor into algorithm is explained. According to this algorithm an alignment software package was compiled and compared self-compiled software with alignment package of CODE V. Results show that this self-compiled software is much more valid than alignment package of CODE V. For a field of view of 2 R-C system average MTF over the field of view was greater than 0.3 at 50 line pairs /mm.
