Nickel based catalyst is of interest in the industrial catalytic processes  and it is always modified by doping a second element to improve its catalytic properties. Understanding the role of dopant is extremely helpful in tailoring the active centers. In this work  Zn could induce a significant improvement of the catalytic performance of NiAl for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol. The Zn doped ZnNiAl catalysts exhibited high activity and the improved selectivity to 1  2-propanediol  it was about 2 times higher than the original ones. The ZnNi alloy formed in ZnNiAl was responsible for the noticeable catalytic performance. They preferred to coordinate with the end hydroxyl group of glycerol  promoted the cleavage of C-O bond in glycerol  and resulted in the dominant formation of 1  2-propanediol. The findings described here will provide a useful knowledge for rational design of nickel-based catalysts  as well as reveal a new reaction model for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol. Apoptosis induction and G2/M arrest of 2-methyl-1,3,6-trihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone from Rubia yunnanensis in human cervical cancer HeLa cells 期刊论文  OAI收割

2-Methyl-1,3,6-trihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone (MTA)  one of the major components isolated from the traditional  Chinese medicine Rubia yunnanensis  exhibited inhibitory activity on the proliferation of several  human cancer cell lines. The results from an annexin V-FITC (fluoresein-5-isothiocyanate) apoptosis assay  and DNA content analysis showed that MTA exerted cytotoxicity via apoptosis induction and G2/M cell cycle  arrest in human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells. Further  MTA was found to induce apoptosis of HeLa cells  through the mitochondria-mediated pathway. It caused the translocation of Bax to the mitochondria and  release of cytochrome c into the cytosol  which caused the cleavage of caspase and poly(ADP-ribose)  polymerase and finally triggered the apoptosis. Furthermore  the p53/p21/Cdc2-cyclin B1 signaling was  found related to the G2/M arrest caused by MTA. The over-expression of p21 and down-expression of  cyclin B1 caused by MTA inactivated the Cdc2-cyclin B1 complex of G2/M checkpoint and finally caused  the G2/M arrest in HeLa cells. This study demonstrated that MTA is a potential anti-cancer component of  R. yunnanensis  a folk anti-cancer herb used in Yunnan  China.

In this study  Zn0.99Co0.01Al0.015O thin film has been prepared by sol-gel method. The structural and magnetic properties of the sample were investigated. X-ray diffraction spectroscopy analyses indicate that the Co and Al codoping can not disturb the structure of ZnO. No additional peaks are observed in the Zn0.99Co0.01Al xO and Al3+ and Co2+ substitute for Zn 2+ without changing the wurtzite structure. The resistance measurements confirm that Al ions increase the free carriers concentration. Based on the above experiments we think the ferromagnetic behavior of the sample could not originate from Co nanoclusters. The presence of free carriers and localized d spins is a prerequisite for the appearance of ferromagnetism. As the result  the carriers generated by Al doping is considered a main factor to induce the ferromagnetic phenomenon. (2013) Trans Tech Publications  Switzerland.

Formation pressure and the underground stress field will be disturbed by high pressure injection and production activities during oilfield development. Such disturbance will induce the deformation of formation rock  sometimes causing formation to slip. As a result  production wells and/or injection wells will encounter sanding  casing deformation  or even casing shear problems. This article introduced a simulation study on formation pressure and the underground stress field variation during injection and production activities in the Xingshugang area of the Daqing Anticline  Songliao Basin  China. The relationships of injection pressure to formation pressure  underground stress field variation  and strain variation were investigated in this paper. 2010 IOP Publishing Ltd.
