The development in basic technology and market strategy of solar thermal power techniques is booming rapidly due to the limited fossil resources and severe environmental problems all over the world. In this paper  the design method of heliostats field for the scale of 1MW solar power tower plant with latitude of 40.4N at the design point of the noon of spring equinox is introduced  which uses the multiplication of three efficiencies of cosine  atmospheric transmittance and intercept as the preliminary boundary limit to locate heliostats  while the spacing between heliostats is set not only for less shading and blocking  but also for the availability of installation and maintenance of heliostats. Furthermore  its optical performance tested by the software HFLD  is quite good  which has annual average efficiency of 71.36% and design point efficiency of 80%. 2012 IEEE.

To develop a lift early warning infrared device  as a part of land or boat (ship) early warning system  the system has the ability to target pre-discovery and instructions invasion. Methods: In support of distant air situation  alerts the enemy aircraft  missiles and other long-range goals  obtain the target type and preliminary judgment of grade  deliver the alarm information to the command system. The infrared alarm device detects the target's own infrared radiation passively  alarms the incoming targets at low altitude and low altitude remote  when radar and other equipment is out of work. Results: The accuracy of entire system reached 20 according the analysis. Conclusions: The device has a full range of complex background  with high sensitivity  high resolution  anti-jamming  fast response time and other characteristics. One of the effective method of improving diamond tool life on rulling large diffraction gratings is developing precise double-cone edged on line edge transfering tool. But traditional died weight or manual lapping technique couldn't meet the precision requirement of on line edge transfering tool. So preliminary studied rigid lapping of diamond grating ruling tool. Choosing traditional BC6063 shaping machine and made a series of alteration on it  achieved the automation of lapping process of diamond grating ruling tool. Through lapping grating ruling tool and AFM measurement find that the surface roughness of tool is 1.51nm  the radius of tool edge is 160nm  edge quality is good enough  this verified the feasibility of rigid lapping of diamond grating ruling tool and lay the foundation for developing precision lapping machine. The radiometric calibration of the thermal imager was investigated to build the relationship between the input radiance and the digital output to realize the temperature measurement. The radiometric calibration was implemented in the State Key Laboratory of Applied Optics. A standard black body source was served as radiation source. The response of the thermal imager to the input radiance was tested for different gains. The experimental results show that the average grey level of the output imaging is linear dependence of the input radiance. Because the radiance in the receiving wave range of the thermal imager is linear with the black body's temperature based on Planck's law of radiation  the average grey level of the output image is also linear with the black body's temperature after fitting a curve to the experiment data points. Then the relationship of the response and the gain was studied when the black body's temperature kept constant. The preliminary analysis of calibration data shows that the response of the thermal imager is linear and the average grey value of the image is directly proportion to the gain. According to the experimental results  the reference gains and the dynamic range of temperature measurement were obtained. Finally  the uncertainty influencing the calibration results was analyzed  the analysis shows the maximal uncertainty is 5.2%  which can meet the calibration requirement less than 10%. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.
