Laser cleaning is a non-contact  green and environmental cleaning method  which can effectively remove particulate contaminations of sizes as small as 0.1 m without damage to the optics. But most laser cleaning devices are large and heavy  also expensive due to using large lasers such as CO2 laser  YAG Laser etc. In this work a low power LD was tried to clean fingerprint and dust contaminated on the surface of the attenuator glasses plates. In the laser cleaning experiment with low power diode the fingerprint grease can be efficient to be cleaned  but there is no evident effect for cleaning inorganic dust. The cleaning different degree of fingerprint contaminations was investigated at the variable laser parameters  including laser power and irradiation time. An optical microscope was used to analyze the cleaning effect. The results show that low power LD can effectively remove the fingerprint on the surface of absorptive-type attenuator glass plates. On the premise that the attenuator optics glasses are not damaged  the cleaning area increases with the increase of radiation time and laser power. The cleaning area doesn't change much with the variation of laser frequency when the other parameters are the same. (2013) Trans Tech Publications  Switzerland.

A classical joint transform correlator (JTC) usually yields large correlation sidelobes as well as a large correlation peak width  strong zero-order peak  and low diffraction efficiency  which make the detection ability of JTC lower. To overcome these difficulties  firstly  a joint power spectrum (JPS) subtraction technique in Fourier plane was proposed  where reference image power spectrum and object image power spectrum are subtracted from the JPS before inverse Fourier-transform operation  it is obvious that the modified JPS removes the zero-order term. Secondly  a fringe-adjusted filter (FAF) was presented to suppress sidelobes and noises. The modified JPS is multiplied by a FAF before the inverse Fourier-transform operation to obtain the cross-correlation peak. Computer simulations demonstrated the improved method can obviously remove zero-order diffraction and effectively suppress the sidelobes and noises compared with classic JTC  and then improve the detection ability for JTC. In the imaging process of the space remote sensing camera  there was degradation phenomenon in the acquired images. In order to reduce the image blur caused by the degradation  the remote sensing images were restored to give prominence to the characteristic objects in the images. First  the frequency-domain notch filter was adopted to remove strip noises in the images. Then using the ground characters with the knife-edge shape in the images  the point spread function of the imaging system was estimated. In order to improve the accuracy  the estimated point spread function was corrected with Gaussian fitting method. Finally  the images were restored using the adaptive Wiener filtering with the fitted point spread function. Experimental results of the real remote sensing images showed that almost all strip noises in the images were eliminated. After the denoised images were restored  its variance and its gray mean gradient increased  also its laplacian gradient increased. Restoration with Gaussian fitted point spread function is beneficial to interpreting and analyzing the remote sensing images. After restoration  the blur phenomenon of the images is reduced. The characters are highlighted  and the visual effect of the images is clearer. 2011 IEEE.
