In order to solve the problem that the weight of large scale theodolite's casting or steel plate welded structure is too heavy
lightweight design of large scale turntable based on topology optimization of continuum structure is investigated. Topology optimization could have better optimization efficiency because it can provide the optimized distribution of material and gain optimized structure in conceptual design phase of the structural design. In order to obtain lightweight and high stiffness structure
a truss turntable based on topology optimization of continuum structure is presented
and the validity of this lightweight structure is examined by finite element analysis. Comparing to the traditional welding steel turntable
the lightweight turntable
without changing the static displacement
can lose 386.48 kg(lightweight ratio is 26.7%)
and its first-order natural frequency raises from 167.02Hz to 173.71Hz. Meanwhile
in other aspects this turntable also has better performance than traditional structure. 2012 IEEE.

As the special soil
turfy soil and peat soil in China contained some similar properties with high void ratio
high water content
high organic content
etc. But turfy soil also had properties which difference from peat soil. In this paper
based on the formation of the cause and geological environment and geomorphologic characteristics of geological in the quaternary
took the typical and widespread turfy soil and peat soil regions for example
systematically discussed the material composition and macroscopic and microcosmic structural features
put further research on the physical chemistry mechanical characteristics. Then the come to the conclusion that the essential reason for difference between turfy soil and peat soil were decomposition degree and organic content. The result that worse engineering properties such as higher the moisture content
porosity
compressibility
internal cohesion and the lower specific weight
consolidation coefficient and permeability were due to the lower decomposition degree and higher organic content of turfy soil than peat soil. It can provide reference to the practical projects of turfy soil to distinguish peat soil according to this characteristic. (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

Mathematical models of structural optimization were established for the cam wave generator
then a conceptual model
by integrally taking its static and dynamic performance into consideration
which satisfied the model acted by four concentrated forces
while the dynamic optimum design was carried out. The topology optimization of the cam wave generator was performed based on artificial material density method
was obtained. And the size optimization of the cam wave generator was also executed based on the zero-order method in software Ansys after setting up its parameterized model. The optimized results indicate that its final volume declines to 1284.217mm3 from its 1397.830mm3
which reduced by 42.18% than the original volume of cam (2221.224mm3). Simultaneously
the static analysis and modal analysis were implemented
and the results show that the static and dynamic performance complies with the design requirements
proving that the results of dynamic optimum design are reasonable. The optimized results in paper are realizable in engineering. And the study method provides not only a reference to decreasing design mass and lowering inertia of the cam wave generator
but also an important basis of lightweight design of harmonic gear drive. 2011 IEEE.
