The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of solid and liquid lubrication on friction and wear performance of selected solid lubricating coatings
comparative experiments have been carried out on magnetron sputtered MoS2 coatings against Si3N4 ball using a ball-on-disk tribo-tester under the conditions of room temperature and different lubrication. Surface morphology of coatings were investigated by atom force microscope (AFM)
and friction coefficient (COF) and wear rate of solid films were also be analyzed. It was shown that the friction is greatly reduced when the solid film is lubricated with oil and grease simultaneously in comparison with single-lubricant lubrication at the start-up or under boundary lubrication conditions. Liquid lubrication causes a dramatic decrease of the wear-ability of the MoS2 coatings. The effect of oil lubrication to the deterioration of wear resistance of MoS2 film was even worse than lubrication grease. (2013) Trans Tech Publications

This paper presents a statistical method to estimate the parameters of the brushless dc (BLDC) motor of a flywheel system for energy storage. The principle of the estimation is based on least square estimation under a reasonable constraint. Method is suitable to avoid using complicated test apparatus. Torque constant
static friction coefficient
vicious friction coefficient and inertia moment can be estimated. Furthermore
copper loss
iron loss
mechanical loss and other loss can be computed from these estimation and measurement data. By the proposed method
it is demonstrated experimentally that accuracy estimation can be achieved. 2012 IEEE.

As the special soil
turfy soil and peat soil in China contained some similar properties with high void ratio
high water content
high organic content
etc. But turfy soil also had properties which difference from peat soil. In this paper
based on the formation of the cause and geological environment and geomorphologic characteristics of geological in the quaternary
took the typical and widespread turfy soil and peat soil regions for example
systematically discussed the material composition and macroscopic and microcosmic structural features
put further research on the physical chemistry mechanical characteristics. Then the come to the conclusion that the essential reason for difference between turfy soil and peat soil were decomposition degree and organic content. The result that worse engineering properties such as higher the moisture content
porosity
compressibility
internal cohesion and the lower specific weight
consolidation coefficient and permeability were due to the lower decomposition degree and higher organic content of turfy soil than peat soil. It can provide reference to the practical projects of turfy soil to distinguish peat soil according to this characteristic. (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

Because the underwater velocity of supercavitating projectile is very high
its structure undergo high longitudinal force. It is necessary to perform structure buckling reliability analysis because the randomicity of structural own parameters and flow parameters should be considered. Critical buckling load of supercavitating projectile is calculated by Galerkin method. The partial matrixes of critical buckling load implicit function to each random variable are deduced
and structural buckling reliability index is calculated by limit step length iteration method. Numerical results show that the critical buckling load and structural buckling reliability index increase with the increase of the ratio of base diameter to cavitator diameter. And structural buckling reliability index increase with the decrease of velocity coefficient. 2011 IEEE.

In this paper
a strong coupled CFD-CSD method is developed to simulate the aeroelastic phenomena. The CFD solver is based on the finite-volume algorithm for the Navier-Stokes equations on unstructured grid. The CSD solver solves the aeroelastic governing equations in the modal space. Their coupling is realized by a dual-time method. The spring-based smoothing method is adopted to deform and regenerate the aerodynamic grid. Two test cases are selected to validate the authors' method for static and dynamic aeroelastity .The results of the simulation for the static aeroelastic problems of a missile wing show that the Lift Coefficient and Drag Coefficient are severally 7% and 5% lower than those don't consider the elasticity of the wing. The results for the flutter boundary prediction of the AGARD 445.6 wing have been proved much closer to the experiment than using the DLM. This method can describe the effects of fluid viscosity more exactly for highly nonlinear transonic flight conditions. The calculation has proved reliable in the subsonic regime
but not accurate enough in the supersonic regime. 2011 IEEE.

Being an efficient method of information fusion
image fusion has been used in many fields such as machine vision
medical diagnosis
military applications and remote sensing. In this paper
Pulse Coupled Neural Network (PCNN) is introduced in this research field for its interesting properties in image processing
including segmentation
target recognition et al.
and a novel algorithm based on PCNN and Wavelet Transform for Multi-focus image fusion is proposed. First
the two original images are decomposed by wavelet transform. Then
based on the PCNN
a fusion rule in the Wavelet domain is given. This algorithm uses the wavelet coefficient in each frequency domain as the linking strength
so that its value can be chosen adaptively. Wavelet coefficients map to the range of image gray-scale. The output threshold function attenuates to minimum gray over time. Then all pixels of image get the ignition. So
the output of PCNN in each iteration time is ignition wavelet coefficients of threshold strength in different time. At this moment
the sequences of ignition of wavelet coefficients represent ignition timing of each neuron. The ignition timing of PCNN in each neuron is mapped to corresponding image gray-scale range
which is a picture of ignition timing mapping. Then it can judge the targets in the neuron are obvious features or not obvious. The fusion coefficients are decided by the compare-selection operator with the firing time gradient maps and the fusion image is reconstructed by wavelet inverse transform. Furthermore
by this algorithm
the threshold adjusting constant is estimated by appointed iteration number. Furthermore
In order to sufficient reflect order of the firing time
the threshold adjusting constant is estimated by appointed iteration number. So after the iteration achieved
each of the wavelet coefficient is activated. In order to verify the effectiveness of proposed rules
the experiments upon Multi-focus image are done. Moreover
comparative results of evaluating fusion quality are listed. The experimental results show that the method can effectively enhance the edge details and improve the spatial resolution of the image. 2011 SPIE.

The solar irradiance monitor (SIM)
with the design accuracy of 5
used to monitor the secular changes of the total solar irradiance on FY-3 satellite
takes the sun-scanning measurement method on-orbit. Compared to the sun-tracking measurement method
this method simplifies the structure and cuts the cost
but the measuring accuracy is affected by the sun-synchronous orbit
sunlight incidence angle and the installing angle of the SIM in the satellite. Through the ground calibration experiment
studies on the affection of different sunlight incidence angles to the measurement accuracy. First
by the satellite tool kit (STK) simulation software
simulates the orbital parameters of the sun-synchronous satellite
and calculates the Sun ascension and declination at any time. By the orbit coordinate transformation matrix gets the components of the Sun vectors to the axes of the satellite
and base on the components designs the field of view and the installing angles of the SIM. Then
designs and completes the calibration experiment to calibrate the affection of the incidence angles. Selecting 11 different angles between the sunlight and the satellite X-axis
measures the total solar irradiance by the SIM at each angle
and compares to the irradiances of the SIAR reference radiometers
and gets the coefficient curves of the three channels of the SIM. Finally
by the quadratic fitting
gets the correction equations on the incidence angles: R 1=5.7110-52 -2.45310 -3+1.0302
R2=2.8410-5-1. 96510-3+1.0314 and R3 =1.7210 -52-4.18410-4+0.9946. The equations will aimprove the on-orbit measurement accuracy of the solar irradiance
and are very important to the on-orbit data processing after the satellite launched. 2011 SPIE.
