Time synchronization algorithm based on energy-efficient hierarchical dynamic clustering in wireless sensor network

中文摘要As a supporting technology for wireless sensor network (WSN), time synchronization is the basis of data gathering, data fusion and localization in WSN. By taking energy consumption into consideration, time synchronization algorithm based on energy-efficient, hierarchical dynamic clustering (EHDCTS) is presented in this paper. Poisson random process is used to select and optimize its parameters such as random probability and hop count. Energy threshold mechanism is designed to update cluster heads in dynamic. After clusters are formed, we select sink node as a root of time synchronization path. Sink node firstly synchronizes with cluster heads, and cluster heads synchronize with their cluster members, to achieve network-wide time synchronization. Experiment results show that our protocol carries out time synchronization with higher precision, and moreover, keeps energy efficient. EHDCTS really makes a good tradeoff between time synchronization precision and energy consumption.
