The annular polishing is used to manufacture a rectangle optical flat with high aspect ratio in this paper. To control the polishing conveniently
a theoretical model based on the Preston hypothesis is given. According to the model
the problems related to control the power and the edge effect occurred during the process are analyzed and practically solved. Finally

SrTiO3:Pr3+ phosphors with different morphologies were prepared by using high-temperature solid-state reaction
the solvothermal method and sol-gel synthesis. All the products were systematically characterized by powder x-ray diffraction (XRD)
infrared spectroscopy (IR)
scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
photoluminescence (PL) and photoluminescent excitation spectra (PLE). The influence of different synthesis methods on the morphology and optical properties of SrTiO3:Pr3+ was discussed. 2010 The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Aligned Sb-doped ZnO nanocolumns were synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. Based on the analyses of the X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence result
it could be confirmed that the Sb has successfully doped in the ZnO crystal lattices to form an accepter energy level. At 85 K
the recombination of the acceptor-bound exciton was predominant in PL spectrum
which was attributed to the transition of the (SbZn-2VZn) complex bound exciton. The acceptor binding energy had been calculated to be 123 meV. 2009 Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
