2-Methyl-1,3,6-trihydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone (MTA) one of the major components isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Rubia yunnanensis exhibited inhibitory activity on the proliferation of several human cancer cell lines. The results from an annexin V-FITC (fluoresein-5-isothiocyanate) apoptosis assay and DNA content analysis showed that MTA exerted cytotoxicity via apoptosis induction and G2/M cell cycle arrest in human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells. Further MTA was found to induce apoptosis of HeLa cells through the mitochondria-mediated pathway. It caused the translocation of Bax to the mitochondria and release of cytochrome c into the cytosol which caused the cleavage of caspase and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase and finally triggered the apoptosis. Furthermore the p53/p21/Cdc2-cyclin B1 signaling was found related to the G2/M arrest caused by MTA. The over-expression of p21 and down-expression of cyclin B1 caused by MTA inactivated the Cdc2-cyclin B1 complex of G2/M checkpoint and finally caused the G2/M arrest in HeLa cells. This study demonstrated that MTA is a potential anti-cancer component of R. yunnanensis a folk anti-cancer herb used in Yunnan China.

Comparing with optical remote sensing techniques passive remote sensing data have been proved to be effective for observing snowpack parameters such as snow depth and snow water equivalent which can penetrate snowpack without clouds interferences. The Microwave Radiation Imager (MWRI) loaded on the Chinese FengYun-3B (FY-3B) satellite is gradually used in the global environment research through November 2011. In this paper we proposed a snow depth retrieval algorithm to estimate snow depth in Northeast China using MWRI passive microwave remote sensing data. A decision tree method of snow identification was firstly designed to distinguish different snow cover conditions in order to eliminate other interference signals. After using the proposed decision tree method the processing results were further used to retrieve the snow depth in Northeast China. Finally the practical snow depth data and the MODIS data were collected for the accuracy assessment of the proposed snow depth retrieval method. The experimental results demonstrated that the RMSE of snow depth used the proposed method was approximately 3 cm in Northeast China. 2012 SPIE.

Optical camera is a high-precision optical instrument and the optical lens must be always stable under various environments so the structural materials of optical camera should have good stability and machining performance characteristics. Generally the weight of the camera increases with the increasing size of optical camera aperture. The application of carbon fibre reinforced plastic(CFRP) in optical camera can help to improve the situation and meet the requirements of large volume and light weight. In this paper the properties of several kind of materials used in camera structure were compared the advantages of CFRP used in optical camera were analyzed the CFRP application profiles of domestic and international were introduced and the reason of gap was pointed out. There is a conclusion that CFRP will be widely used in the optical camera in China. 2012 IEEE.

SGCMG receives much concern due to the performance of its excellent torque output on spacecraft control it has been applied to large foreign spacecraft already but late start and only limited to configurations and steering law study in China. Based on the needs of agility small satellites this article explained the method of SGCMG principle prototype design and proposed the influence on SGCMG output torque precision generated by time accumulation error first time. This article provided a new idea for future SGCMG project development and had good reference value for SGCMG research. 2011 IEEE.

Taihu Lake is the third largest fresh water lake in China. With the fast economic development, abundant industrial and agricultural waste water has been discharged into Taihu Lake, causing the eutrophication of the water quality, which greatly affected the water utility. In the past decades, the treatment of Taihu Lake has witnessed limited success. Therefore, it is practically and theoretically significant to study the eutrophication of Taihu Lake. This research has focused on the issue of water quality including the characteristics of spatial and temporal distributions, and the rules of nutrient diffusion in the Taihu lake area.

Formation pressure and the underground stress field will be disturbed by high pressure injection and production activities during oilfield development. Such disturbance will induce the deformation of formation rock sometimes causing formation to slip. As a result production wells and/or injection wells will encounter sanding casing deformation or even casing shear problems. This article introduced a simulation study on formation pressure and the underground stress field variation during injection and production activities in the Xingshugang area of the Daqing Anticline Songliao Basin China. The relationships of injection pressure to formation pressure underground stress field variation and strain variation were investigated in this paper. 2010 IOP Publishing Ltd.
