According to the disadvantage of the large noises of histogram equalization algorithm  a new adaptive image enhancement algorithm is presented. First  the statistical histogram of the infrared image is done. Then the threshold of plateaus Equalization is calculated and the statistical histogram is modified. Finally the bright values of the pixels of the image are changed. An embedded high speed image enhancement processing system on high performance DSP TMS320DM642 and FPGA was designed. Experimental results with real images shown that the system can improve the contrast of the infrared image  limit the noises of the enhancement image  and effectively enhance the infrared image  the running time of the program is shorter  so it can meet the requirements of real-time in the project. TDI-CCD can improve the sensitivity of space camera without any degradation of spatial resolution which is widely used in aerospace imaging devices. The article describes the basic working principle and application characteristics of TDI-CCD devices  analyses the composition of TDI-CCD imaging noise  and propose a new method to analyze TDI-CCD imaging noise with statistical probability distribution. In order to estimate the distribution of gray values affect by noise we introduced the concept of skewness and kurtosis. We design an experiment using constant illumination light source  take image with TDI-CCD working at different stage such as stage 16  stage 32  stage 48  stage 64 and stage 96  analyse the characteristics of image noise with the method we proposed  experimental results show that the gray values approximately meet normal distribution in large sample cases. 2011 SPIE.

A new DirectShow application in the field of LED Panel display system is shown in this paper. It realizes video processing functions with DirectShow architecture on computer. Source Filter and many Transform Filters  which provided by Microsoft Co.  transform source video into RGB24 format. Then  the video data are scaled up/down to LED panel resolution by Fixformat Filter which inherite CTramsformfilter baseclass. After that  the R/G/B values of video data are adjusted in CCorrect Filter to adapt LED Panel display. Finally  the processed video is shown on LED Wall through DVI or VGA interface. Our experimental results demonstrate that this system makes a good performance. It is greatly simplify the functions of Sending-Board  Receiving Board  and Control-Scanning-Board in display system of the LED Wall. The total cost will be cut down observably  if we can transplant the filters into the embedded platform  to build a special video processing system for LED Panel display. 2009 IEEE.

Based on the CROSSBAR network (CN) and the BANYAN network (BN)  8 matrix optical switch  two new rearrangeable nonblocking constructions of extended BANYAN network (EBN) are proposed for implementing 88 optical matrix switch. The interconnection characteristics of these two types of rearrangeable nonblocking EBN were studied  optical insertion loss of 4.6 dB  and the logic program for driving switching units was provided. The calculated insertion loss was 3.3 dB for 88 optical matrix switch. Silica waveguide 88 matrix optical switch was designed and fabricated according to the calculated results. The silica waveguide propagation loss of 0.1 dB/cm and waveguide-fiber coupling loss of 0.5dB/point were measured. With the fabricated 87times  cross-talk of -38 dB  polarization dependent loss of 0.4 dB  averaged switching power of 1.6 W  and switching time of 1 ms were achieved. A basic agreement between experimental results and theoretical calculated values was achieved.

A new method of affine object recognition and affine parameters estimation is presented. For a real-time image and a group of templates  in addition  firstly  on the basis of correct recognition  we segment the object regions in them and compute their covariant matrices. Secondly  it can estimate affine parameters exactly  normalize the ellipse regions defined by covariant matrices to circle regions to get rotational invariants  and the estimated error is within 3%. 2008 IEEE.  and compute the similarity function value between rotational invariants of real-time image and every template respectively. Then compare the values with threshold set in advance  if more than one value is larger than threshold  take the corresponding templates as candidates  and compute affine matrix between real-time image and every candidate. Finally  transform the realtime image with every affine matrix and match the result with corresponding candidate by classical matching methods. Experimental results show that the presented method is robust to illumination  with low computational complexity  and it can realize recognition of different affine objects

We propose a new high speed  low memory SPECK image coder based on the form of block-unit states  called LBUS-SPECK  which uses the form of block-unit states and the form of block exponents to substitute LIS and LSP of SPECK. A form of block-unit states is introduced to store the significance flag of coefficients and the value of the block-unit exponents. A form of block exponents is introduced to store the block exponents which are used to represent the max coefficient in a decomposed block. A new block depth-finding strategy is developed for searching insignificant sets at sorting stage. Experimental results show that the obtained PSNR values for the decoded images are very close to those of SPECK algorithm and the memory consumption is reduced by 9 times  the encoding timing is saved about 15%. Comparing with SPECK algorithm  this algorithm not only has better performance of the decoded images  but also is easy to implement  especially  it provides an efficient way for hardware implementation of wavelet embedded block coding. 2007 IEEE.
