This paper presents the digital PI control method for design and simulation of a high precision limited angle brushless torque motor control system in Field Programmable Gate Array device (FPGA). The direct drive structures which are widely applied in many servo control fields. Matlab Xilinx System GeneratorR toolbox based on Fixed-Point Arithmetic is used to design the digital PI controller using DSP architecture  plot the responses of the control system and generate the VHDL source code. The control system model consists of a digital PI  a real LABTM  and a real absolute Inductosyn  encoder to rpm and position blocks. Through loading generated codes in process of the simulation that built by the digital discrete model  it is verified that the rising time of current loop is only 1.2ms  and rate loop is 8ms  overshoot is rarely 4.2%. Finally  the comprehensive positioning accuracy of system can reach up to 5 arc sec  and the rate jitter achieves 5% with the 4 arc sec accuracy absolute Inductosyn. Local variance and single pixel value are combined to describe image structure information using complex method in this paper in order to improve the consistency of objective image assessment result with that of subjective method. The effect of the detail structure information on the image quality was emphasized by this method accordingly. Singular value decomposition was performed on local variance distribution complex matrix. The angle between the singular value vectors of the reference image and the disturbed image was used to measure their structural similarity. Then the quality assessment process was achieved. Results from experiments show that the proposed method is better consistent with human visual system characteristics than MSE  PSNR  and SSIM. 2012 Springer-Verlag London Limited.

A concentric glass spherical dome was usually chosen as the transparent window mounted in front of the optical lens in an image seeker. However  optical ray had to change its direction when propagating through the dome due to refraction unless passing through the center of the dome  which demanded gimbal point coincide with the center of the dome exactly. In fact  gimbal point displacement could not be eliminating due to fabrication  assembly and vibration  therefore the optical axis pointing error generated. In this paper  the effect of gimbal point displacement on optical axis pointing precision in an image seeker was analyzed  and the theoretical expression of the optical axis pointing error was derived based on geometric optics  and the error dynamics was explored by numerical. Take a visible light image seeker as a case  the thickness of concentric glass spherical dome was 8mm and the inner radius was 72mm  and the optical axis pointing errors varying dynamically with the look angle and the gimbal point displacement were shown in graph. When the gimbal displacement was 0.11mm  the maximum optical axis pointing error was 0.054mrad that is equal to the instantaneous field of view (IFOV) corresponding to the camera system whose focal length was 120mm and pixel size was 6.5m. Furthermore  with the gimbal displacement increasing  the optical axis pointing error increased linearly. The analyzed results provided a theoretical basis for the displacement range  which had to be limited strictly in the gimbal design process. 2011 IEEE.

In order to research the attitude algorithm with angular rate input under the conical motion  a optimal threesample rotation vector algorithm based on single-step Newton backward interpolation is proposed. Using the principle of limited rigid body rotation and the characteristic of angular rate input  three-sample rotation vector algorithm is derivated. To minimum attitude errors  three-sample rotation vector algorithm is optimized. Three angular rate extraction methods of singlestep entire sample recursion  multi-step entire sample and singlestep Newton backward interpolation are proposed. Under the condition of conical motion with semi-cone angle 3 and angular frequency 2rad/s  simulation is done. The simulation results show that single-step Newton backward interpolation is superior to the other two methods  and its maximum error peak is 0.01  error drift rate is 0.036/h. Experiments in three-axis flying turntable with the same parameters are carried out  and the results show that error drift rates of three-channels are less than those of traditional quaternion  which are 13.53%  12.08% and 23.68% lower respectively. It also verified that the new algorithm can perform a high accuracy under the conical motion. 2011 IEEE.
