Pose accuracy is an important issue for parallel robot being used as mirror supporting system of telescope. One challenging topic is the accuracy synthesis which deals with the optimal design of the manufacturing and assembling tolerances of each component under the given pose accuracy. First  the error model of the 3-RPS parallel robot is built based on total derivation of the kinematic equations. And the error variable of each spherical or rotate joint can be expressed as a single boundary error parameter but not three independent position parameters. Then  the accuracy synthesis model is formulated taking the manufacturing costs as the optimization objective and the accuracy requirements as the constraint condition. Finally  the genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimization problem and a simulation example is given. The results show that the accuracy synthesis method based on manufacturing costs can satisfy the need of pose accuracy and is better for engineering application than the method based on error sensitivity. 2012 Chinese Assoc of Automati.

Altazimuth photoelectric theodolite level shaft U-type and T-type structure  but with the expanding field of applications of photoelectric theodolite  the horizontal shaft structure occur great changes. For example  in the marine environment  shipboard conditions  the instrument has a waterproof  corrosion-resistant  easy maintenance and other functions  while carrier-based optoelectronic devices from a single visible television configure the development of integrated infrared system and ranging system as one of the single-station measurement system  due to the spherical structure has sufficient internal space exactly adapted to this need. In this paper  the horizontal axis of a spherical four-way structure. From aspects of the spherical four-way split in the form and shafting design and finite element analysis of the detailed design. A spherical four-way horizontal axis system  diameter 550mm  weight 19kg sphere  in the 40kg load  the maximum deformation of 3.3m  fully meet the requirements. The shaft of the structure of the shaking is less than 2 arc seconds  the vibration test  the re-examination instrument accuracy change is less than 1 arc seconds. Current research on space-based exploration for the ionosphere needs more advanced technologies. Because the spectral signals in the ionosphere distributing basically in the far-ultraviolet waveband are very weak. Usual spectrometer structures and detectors such as CCD can't receive enough information. Based on this principle of atmospheric sounding  the imaging spectrometer prototype for ionosphere detection application was designed to solve the problem. This prototype consists of the telescope and the imaging spectrometer. The simple structure and small number of mirrors can help higher transmission efficiency be achieved and weak signals detection be implemented. The telescope is an off-axis parabolic mirror and the spectrometer is a modified Czerny-Turner spectral imaging system. Modified Czerny-Turner spectrometer contains a spherical mirror  a fixed plane grating and a toroidal mirror. By adjusting the incident angle to the collimating mirror and using toroidal mirror  coma and astigmatism were corrected well. We also optimize distances between the grating to the focusing mirror and the focusing mirror to the image plane to improve disadvantages of traditional Czerny-Turner structure. Designed results demonstrate that aberrations are substantially corrected  and high image quality can be obtained in broad waveband. The photon counting Wedge-Strip-Anode detector with micro-channel planes as the receiving plane is accepted for the instrument prototype. The other photon counting 2-D detector responding well for weak light such as Cross-Delay line detector and MAMA detector can also be used for detection. The calibration and performances testing system is made of a vacuum system  a deuterium lamp  a monochrometer and the instrument prototype. Results obtained from the experiment show that the spectral resolution is 2.4 nm and the spatial resolution is 80 m. The other calibration experiments are running. The technology of the spectrometer prototype is important for the research and applications of ionosphere remote sensing. 2011 SPIE.

Computer-generated holograms (CGH) have been widely used for years in optical testing of aspheric surfaces in combination with Fizeau interferometers. With the development of diffraction optics  computer technology  and micro-processing technology  the accuracy of the CGH testing can achieve a hundredth of a wave  and the cost is reduced greatly. CGH is capable of producing an optical wavefront with any desired shape. So it is fascinating and will have good prospects to test free-form surfaces using CGH. As the CGH can create any wavefront shape  it can also be used in unsymmetrical aspherical surfaces testing. Taking the cubic surface as an example  this paper gives a method to test unsymmetrical surfaces. This paper gives the design to test a cubic surface. And the separation of the diffraction orders and the binary process of the continuous CGH phase function are discussed in detail. The alignment tolerance of the test system and the CGH fabrication tolerance are analyzed. We also present an idea using a CGH and two spherical lenses as null lens to test the cubic surface when the surface deviation is great. 2011 IEEE.

A concentric glass spherical dome was usually chosen as the transparent window mounted in front of the optical lens in an image seeker. However  optical ray had to change its direction when propagating through the dome due to refraction unless passing through the center of the dome  which demanded gimbal point coincide with the center of the dome exactly. In fact  gimbal point displacement could not be eliminating due to fabrication  assembly and vibration  therefore the optical axis pointing error generated. In this paper  the effect of gimbal point displacement on optical axis pointing precision in an image seeker was analyzed  and the theoretical expression of the optical axis pointing error was derived based on geometric optics  and the error dynamics was explored by numerical. Take a visible light image seeker as a case  the thickness of concentric glass spherical dome was 8mm and the inner radius was 72mm  and the optical axis pointing errors varying dynamically with the look angle and the gimbal point displacement were shown in graph. When the gimbal displacement was 0.11mm  the maximum optical axis pointing error was 0.054mrad that is equal to the instantaneous field of view (IFOV) corresponding to the camera system whose focal length was 120mm and pixel size was 6.5m. Furthermore  with the gimbal displacement increasing  the optical axis pointing error increased linearly. The analyzed results provided a theoretical basis for the displacement range  which had to be limited strictly in the gimbal design process. 2011 IEEE.
