To solve the best-fit sphere (BFS) accurately is one of the technological keys for the generating and testing of optical aspherical surfaces. This paper presents a new algorithm for solving the BFS of aspherical surfaces to suppress some deficiencies in the existing BFS algorithms. In the proposed approach  it is not only suitable for the conic surface  a BFS is constructed  but also for higher order aspheres. The obtained asphericity and material removal function is more suitable for the machining and test. (2012) Trans Tech Publications  which passes through both sides of endpoints in the section o -?xy of the aspherical surfaces  Switzerland.  the center of the BFS is shifted along the x-axis  and its radius of curvature is automatically computed. The variable step size method is proposed to speed up the convergence of the iteration. Through numerically solving the BFS of conic and cubic surface  the advantages of the proposed approach are verified. The results show that the proposed approach is of rapid convergence  and high accuracy

In order to determination of cholesterol in human serum with no reagent using nearinfrared (NIR) spectroscopy. Interval partial least square (iPLS) was proposed as an effective variable selection approach for multivariate calibration. For this purpose  an independent sample set was employed to evaluate the prediction ability of the resulting model. The spectrum was split into different interval. Then  the informative region of cholesterol (1688-1760nm)  in which the PLS model has a low RMSEP with 0.241mmol/L and a high R with 0.975  is selected with 23 intervals. The results indicate that  the informative region of cholesterol can be obtained by iPLS and applied to design the simpler reagentless NIR instruments for inexpensive cholesterol measurement in future. Aimed at aerospace roll stabilization  control arithmetic based on model reference sliding mode variable structure theory and chattering reduction arithmetic are formulated. Correctness and validity of arithmetic are analyzed. With flight dynamics  the roll-loop mathematic model and reference model are established. Sliding hyperplane is deduced based on model reference sliding mode variable structure theory. Combing with reaching law  control law is derived  and stability of roll-loop is analyzed. Chattering of aileron instructions is alleviate by using boundary layer approach. Digital flying simulation result shows that variable structure control arithmetic realized roll stabilization control  the roll angle is less than 5.3 under powered flight  and that of unpowered flight is less than 0.5  respectively. The command fin angle is less than 1.5. High frequency chattering of fin command nearby the minimum velocity was trailed off by chattering reduction arithmetic. The sliding mode control arithmetic show good performance when aerodynamic coefficients varies 20%. The control arithmetic is easy to be implemented for its simplicity. 2011 IEEE.
