Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena  Abstract: Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are millisecond-duration radio transients of unknown physical origin observed at extragalactic distances1-3. It has long been speculated that magnetars are the engine powering repeating bursts from FRB sources4-13, but no convincing evidence has been collected so far14. Recently, the Galactic magnetar SRG 1935+2154 entered an active phase by emitting intense soft íray bursts15. One FRB-like event with two peaks (FRB 200428) and a luminosity slightly lower than the faintest extragalactic FRBs was detected from the source, in association with a soft íray/hard-X-ray flare18-21. Here we report an eight-hour targeted radio observational campaign comprising four sessions and assisted by multi-wavelength (optical and hard-X-ray) data. During the third session, 29 soft-íray repeater (SGR) bursts were detected in íray energies. Throughout the observing period, we detected no single dispersed pulsed emission coincident with the arrivals of SGR bursts, but unfortunately we were not observing when the FRB was detected. The non-detection places a fluence upper limit that is eight orders of magnitude lower than the fluence of FRB 200428. Our results suggest that FRB-SGR burst associations are rare. FRBs may be highly relativistic and geometrically beamed, or FRB-like events associated with SGR bursts may have narrow spectra and characteristic frequencies outside the observed band. It is also possible that the physical conditions required to achieve coherent radiation in SGR bursts are difficult to satisfy, and that only under extreme conditions could an FRB be associated with an SGR burst.

Multi-band IR data of the space object can be used in the fields of object identification and space surveillance. The radiation characteristics of the object can be obtained by analyzing these data. These characteristics include temperature  area  emissivity  absorptivity  reflectivity  and temporal trends. The infrared radiation temperature of the space object is an important characteristic from which the object's working state in orbit can be judged. We apply the method of measuring the spectral distribution of the object and fit the data to the Planck formula to determine the temperature. In order to improve the precision of measuring temperature on the space object  we optimize the centric wavelength and the bandwidth effectively. Also  we use a simple program to implement temperature measurement. 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

By using bottom-emitting structure  we will develop laser diode (LD) pumped 980 nm VECSEL with active region of InGaAs/GaAsP/AlGaAs system. Because the thickness of barrier layer and absorption layer exceed that of quantum well  single well approximation model (KP method) can be used to calculate the band structure of VECSEL. The Schrodinger equation of finite deep potential well can be adopted to calculate the energy level structures of electron  heavy and light holes. According to the transition selection rule  we theoretically obtained the emitting wavelength of VECSEL and calculated quasi-Femi energy of valence band and conduction band based on the analysis of energy level structure of electron and holes. By analyzing the gain of strained quantum wells  we calculated the gain of VECSEL using transition matrix elements of electron  heavy and light holes. We give out the threshold gain  output power and other characteristic parameters. We will study the configuration of VECSEL and pumping scheme. We designed external cavity mirror  active region and bottom-emitting structure. A LD-pumped vertical external cavity surface-emitting laser whose output power is greater than 1.0 W can be predicted.
